Domain Research

According to the research going mobile-first means an always-on approach In the US, Sojern data shows that 26% of travel searches in the fourth quarter of last year occurred on a mobile device. In other parts of the world, it’s even higher: Travel searches conducted on a mobile device totaled 47% in Europe; 40% in Asia; 38% in the Middle East and Africa; and 34% in Latin America. For US travelers, 72% of all mobile bookings made happen within a 48-hour window prior to the booking. Travelers want more flexibility, which mobile devices have delivered leading to a greater propensity to book last-minute.

A new report by Travelport says young people ages 18 to 34 are most likely to spend more money on vacations than other age groups. one out of three millennials is willing to dish out $5000 or more on vacation. That's the most cash of any other age group. And Gen Z seems to be following that same path.

User interview

80% of the subject of the interviews are budget-conscious, they consider it worthy of every budget they had spent on their itinerary. Nearly 90% of the interview really care where destination they booking has a trend list near them like restaurants bar, commodity store, etc. The majority of them would be saving their budget and scheme for their future trip at least once a month.

Michael has work in an advertising company and he has often been travel. he wants to take advantage of his free time and travel with his family.

Influence

He has the advantage of being work in an advertising company. He can travel while he was at work with extra time.

Frustration

He had a poor experience when he was using the app for the itinerary. He is expecting to have better service and reliable features to help with the itinerary.

Problem Statement

Most other voyage products are unable to provide users with demand.  I gathered user’s feedbacks and adapted their ideas to create a user-friendly interface, such as the ability to easily search and browse well-known places, foods, scenic spots, etc by most popular.

Solution

The users are hoping they can have guidance from previous travel experiences after they using the app. Things like related interests, favorite food, and activities for their further to uses. With that support, users can manage easily and saving time.

Mapping

Wireframes

The ideas of the wireframes were to make the design user friendly and minimal look. When users try to search for somethings in-app, the images are always to get their attention initially. So I emphasized the photos with little content. I feel it will make users comfortable use and saving time.

High fidelity

After the wireframes are good to go, I had moved to the high-quality wireframes and get some good pictures also create simple elements and icons to attach to the wireframes to show the screens they can work smooth and friendly before they got to publish.

Conclusion

Overall, I assimilated a lot of knowledge and experience by working on this project. I was able to learn and make domain research to find out what is the competitors. Also known to create a persona from the user's interview. Throughout the design process, I realized how important for a designer to understand what is the user's demand and delivery a user-friendly product.
